What is the difference between metrics, KPIs, and key results?

A metric may be defined as a tool meant for quantitative assessment. It helps to compare and track production or performance. Signaling the company’s priorities, metric offers a window on performance and ambition.

KPIs stand for key performance indicators. As you set your KPIs, you define your business’s key areas, and you use a metric to show how that key area is currently performing. Note every KPI is a metric, but not every metric is a KPI.
